The Northwest Air Ambulance Charity (NWAA) provides rapid pre-hospital care needed to make a life changing difference. We provide emergency medical treatment when time is critical.

JOB TITLE: Volunteer Coordinator – North Lancashire & Cumbria
BASE: Hybrid working including regular work from our Blackburn Community Hub and Kendal shop travel across the North West.
DEPARTMENT: Income & Engagement
REPORTING TO: Head of Volunteering
WORKING HOURS: 35 hours per week
SALARY: £26,000 - £27,000 (DOE)
Overall purpose of the role:
We are proud to work for a life saving charity. The North West Air Ambulance Charity is looking for a passionate, engaging, and well organised volunteer co-ordinator to join our life saving team.
Our charity has over 400 volunteers, working together with our staff teams to raise £12M every year, and spread the message that we rely on the support of the public. Our HEMS crews deliver specialist and enhanced pre-hospital care to the most critically ill and injured patients across the North West, and we receive no government or NHS funding. We rely on volunteers and supporters to keep us flying to save lives.
Main duties and responsibilities:

Can you:
- Recruit a diverse pool of volunteers for events roles, fundraising roles, and to support our retail operations.
- Maintain a volunteer database using our CRM system and keep on top of volunteer administration within our Volunteer Management System.
- Facilitate and deliver role-specific training and charity inductions to ensure volunteers are suitably prepared to deliver on their roles and make sure volunteers can do their role safely and within charity policies.
- Deliver events to support volunteer recruitment, retention, and recognition, always keeping volunteers up to date with what’s happening at the charity.
- Ensure we have the right support in place so that our volunteers can give their best and support the charity in a way that adds value for both them and the charity.
- Recognise and promote the value of volunteers across the charity and beyond.
- Work closely and collaboratively with volunteer managers making sure they feel supported and able to deliver on their own targets.
- Take on innovative projects and lead partnerships to support and develop the volunteer experience.
- Work as a team to deliver and develop new roles, policy and procedure to make NWAA the best place to volunteer.
Qualifications
- 5 x GCSE passes including Maths and English
- Fundraising Qualification
Experience
- Experience in volunteering
- Experience in recruiting through various channels
- Working knowledge of databases and MS Office (especially Excel)

- Skilled communicator at all levels; including ability to influence
- Facilitation and engagement skills
